Where Real Experience Drives Real Change

UBC Business Boost Winner: Spectrum7

At UBC, we’re committed to supporting ambitious entrepreneurs who are using their lived experiences to create lasting impact. This year, we launched the UBC Business Boost competition to find and champion a purpose-driven small business with a bold vision for growth. After receiving a wealth of inspiring entries from across the UK, one stood out for its authenticity, clarity of mission, and potential to spark meaningful change.

We’re proud to announce that the winner of the 2025 UBC Business Boost is Spectrum7 Neurodivergent Coaching, led by the remarkable Vivienne Murphy.

Bridging the Gaps for Neurodivergent Adults

Spectrum7 was born out of frustration and fierce determination. After years spent advocating for her two neurodivergent children and others, Vivienne saw an urgent need for practical, tailored support for young adults navigating life beyond the education system.

“Spectrum7 is my no-nonsense, real-world solution designed to fill the glaring gaps in support for neurodivergent adults.” Vivienne explains. Her coaching isn’t just a business, it’s a personal mission, driven by lived experience and professional insight into the systemic challenges neurodivergent individuals face daily.

From job-hunting hurdles and sensory overload in the workplace to struggles with confidence, communication, and burnout, Spectrum7 addresses these complex issues with honesty, empathy, and pragmatism.

“It’s not about helping people cope with a broken system,” Vivienne says. “It’s about empowering them to thrive despite it.”

What Makes Spectrum7 Stand Out

Where other coaching models often rely on motivational platitudes or one-size-fits-all advice, Spectrum7 takes a refreshingly direct and personalised approach. With a foundation in legal advocacy and neurodiversity-informed practice, the service offers:

  • Mindset and confidence coaching

  • Employment and communication skills

  • Executive function support

  • Burnout prevention and wellbeing strategies

  • Advocacy for navigating workplace systems

  • Guidance for parents and carers

Spectrum7 isn’t designed to smooth people into conformity: it helps clients understand and embrace their unique cognitive wiring and equips them with strategies that work with their brains, not against them.

Why Spectrum7 Entered the UBC Business Boost

Vivienne saw the UBC Business Boost as more than just a prize — it was a platform.

“It felt like recognition that the work I’m doing really matters, and that neurodivergent individuals deserve targeted, meaningful support.”

Being shortlisted was already a milestone, but winning has opened new doors. As part of the prize package, Spectrum7 will receive a 12-month Virtual Office membership, Coworking access, and tailored expert mentoring and marketing support from UBC and our network of business partners, including a Marketing Consultation with Glued Marketing and an Admin Masterclass with Ally from Pink Spaghetti.

Vivienne is particularly excited about the strategic coaching and brand development support: “Having access to expert guidance will be transformational — we’re ready to reach more people and elevate our messaging.”

What’s Next for Spectrum7?

With a strong foundation already in place, Spectrum7 is now gearing up to expand its reach through:

  • A new series of digital courses focused on employment readiness, burnout recovery, and mindset development

  • An employer consultancy offering, helping businesses create genuinely inclusive workplaces

  • The launch of Spectrum7 Legal Advocacy, a service to support neurodivergent individuals with workplace rights and reasonable adjustments

Vivienne’s ultimate vision is clear: “I want Spectrum7 to become the definitive, go-to resource for neurodivergent adults and their supporters: a trusted hub that drives real, systemic change.”

Vivienne’s advice for fellow entrepreneurs is simple and powerful:

“Be clear about your niche and own it. Solve real problems. Be unapologetically yourself. Authenticity will always speak louder than strategy.”

She also offers a rallying call to the wider business community:

“Supporting neurodivergent individuals isn’t charity — it’s an opportunity to unlock exceptional, untapped potential. It’s time we built systems that work for everyone.”

Congratulations, Spectrum7

UBC is proud to support Vivienne and Spectrum7 as they continue to deliver lasting change with purpose and integrity. Through the UBC Business Boost, we’re not just investing in a business: we’re investing in a better, more inclusive future for work.
