UBC Stars Shine at Annual Awards Celebration

What better way to brighten up January than a team celebration?

UBC and Inigo employees were treated to a fun-packed team outing in Manchester last week. It all started with go-karting at Chaos Karting in Deansgate, which saw team members battle it out ‘Mario Kart’ style to see who could score the most points. Pictured below on the podium were Gold medal winner Magda Bogusz and runners up in the Silver and Bronze positions were Richard Johnson and Leon Swan.

After lunch, the team moved on to the Hilton Manchester Deansgate for a company update from UBC and Inigo Managing Director, Richard Johnson, and the announcement of our award winners.

This was the moment everyone had been waiting for. UBC’s staff awards provide an opportunity to celebrate our hardworking and talented staff and to recognise their individual and team achievements.

The people and teams who were recognised for their outstanding contribution over the past 12 months are:

  • Centre of the Year: Birchwood Team – Sam Snelson and Sheridan Firth
  • Team of the Year: The Finance Team – Sharon Attwood, Jenny Negus, Beata Papcunova and Tracy Rose
  • Sales Person of the Year: Leon Swan
  • UBC Award for contribution to the business overall: Lyn Chapman

 UBC Award winners 2023

UBC’s Managing Director Richard Johnson comments about the event “Friday’s event was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements and progress made in the UBC and Inigo businesses during 2023. More importantly, it was an opportunity to celebrate the people behind the results.

2023 saw the group achieve strong occupancy and revenue growth, make strategic recruitment to strengthen our team, and implement new systems and technologies, we invested heavily in a number of our properties with our landlord partners to improve the working environment while reducing our energy requirements and put another FlexSA Customer Service Excellence award on the mantlepiece in November.

We wouldn’t have achieved any of our 2023 goals without the hard work, skills, passion and personality of the UBC and Inigo teams, so I couldn’t have been more proud to award our winners and acknowledge the team as whole.

I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve as a team in 2024!”

Then it was time to enjoy a spot of R&R in the hotel’s spa and pool, before the team got together once again for drinks  followed by a delicious gala dinner and disco.
