UBCUK Wins Top Industry Award for third successive year

UBCUK is delighted to have won the annual FlexSA ‘Workspace of the Year’ award in its size category for the third consecutive year.

Rutherford House, UBC’s business centre in Birchwood, Warrington, won the prestigious award at the Industry Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 29th November 2019 in London.

Last year, UBC’s Southampton-based centre, Enterprise House, won ‘Workspace of the Year’ and in 2017, it was won by UBC Cirencester.

This year, UBC is delighted to have had two centres in the running - both in the same award category - with UBC Cirencester once again impressing the judging panel to finish a very credible runner-up.

The annual FlexSA (formerly BCA) Industry Awards is a long-running programme that has become increasingly competitive as the flexible workspace industry has grown and diversified.

The award is based exclusively on client nominations, which makes the result particularly special for UBC’s Rutherford House team - Sam Snelson, Sarah Blackhurst and Sheridan Firth - who were delighted to receive endorsements from every client in the building.

Finishing 2019 in Style

Winning the award and finishing on a hattrick caps off a triumphant year for UBC. In May, the Cirencester team won a top Customer Service Award and finished runner-up in the Business of the Year category at the Cirencester Chamber of Commerce awards evening.

Across its 7 centres, UBC has enjoyed many highlights over the past year including a successful partnership with Enterprise Nation, which offers business support to UBC clients across the country, and a target-smashing fundraising campaign for mental health charity, Mind, with over £5,000 raised to date.

2019 has also seen the launch of numerous client-focused initiatives within UBC’s individual centres, such as Meetup Monday in Birchwood and Flexi Friday in Brentford, which provides opportunities for clients and local entrepreneurs to connect and work together.

These events, combined with outstanding customer service and leadership from UBC’s centre managers, helps strengthen the business communities within UBC’s centres and create happier, more productive environments for entrepreneurs to work and grow their businesses.

This is evident at all of UBC’s centres but particularly at award-winning Rutherford House.

It’s home to a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and SMEs who evidently value the lengths to which Sam and her team go to support their needs. One of their clients, Sharon, said in her nomination, “Sam embodies a company culture that believes outstanding is just something they do every day.”

Officially opened in April 2015, Rutherford House occupies a superb location overlooking Birchwood Park in Warrington. It is one of 7 business centres operated by UBC offering a range of flexible serviced offices and shared coworking space for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
