New Cirencester Office “Feels Like Home” for Nursery Supplier, Early Years Direct

Early Years Direct, a long-established supplier of furniture, equipment and toys to nurseries and pre-schools, has made a positive start to the New Year by moving into their new Cirencester HQ.

Based at UBC’s offices on Cirencester Business Park in Gloucestershire, Early Years Direct has wasted no time getting to know the local area. The team has been out exploring the Cotswolds market town, getting to know the local cafes and shops and digging into its history.

“Often called the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’, Cirencester is a town with a rich history,” explained director and founder, Paul Harris. “In Roman times, Cirencester was called Corinium and was the second largest town in Roman Britain.”

Cirencester has a rich and varied past with a long trading history; it had a thriving wool trade and industry which can be traced back to Roman times. Over the centuries Cirencester became known as a busy market town, and in more recent years it has become a thriving hub for modern businesses of all sizes.

Today, Cirencester is home to hundreds of freelancers, startups, growing SMEs and large corporate firms spanning scores of different industries.

Early Years Direct is one of the latest companies to relocate to Cirencester and take advantage of its entrepreneurial community and excellent transport network.

Founded in 2007, the Early Years Direct team started out with a range of simple wooden furniture and now offers everything from furniture and cots to bookcases, rugs and easels. It has become one of the leading suppliers of toys, furniture and equipment for nurseries and pre-schools in the country.

Formerly situated on a converted military base in Stroud, Gloucestershire, the Early Years Direct team is now settling into their new offices at UBC’s award-winning Business Centre. Based just outside Cirencester town centre near the Royal Agricultural University (which as Paul points out is the oldest agricultural college in the English-speaking world), the team is getting fully immersed in the buzz and bustle of their new business community and looking forward to the year ahead.

“It feels like home already!” added Paul.
