UBC Celebrates Birmingham Business Park Anniversary

In January 2016, UBC officially opened the doors to its new business centre at 1310 Solihull Parkway in Birmingham Business Park, following an extensive refurbishment of the building.

One year later, UBC marked its one-year anniversary at Birmingham Business Park with a celebratory event.

Members of the UBC team, including on-site customer service managers Debby and Natalie, hosted an 'Open House' event at 1310 Solihull Parkway. Along with refreshments and birthday cake, there was a charity raffle in aid of children's charity KidsOut with a fantastic prize donated by Ardencote Hotel & Spa in Warwickshire.

Jane Erasmus, Sales & Marketing Director at UBC, commented: "Birmingham Business Park is the newest addition to our serviced office portfolio and we're absolutely delighted with the progress we've made in such a short time. The business centre is now home to 24 businesses of varying sizes, ranging from small firms to corporate project teams, which has generated a stimulating community in which business owners and staff regularly network and develop new opportunities."

UBC has always enjoyed a strong presence in the Midlands, having operated serviced office centres in Central Birmingham and nearby Henley-in-Arden for a number of years. UBC first acquired the building at Birmingham Business Park in June 2016, having negotiated a 15-year lease for the property with Aequus Land via commercial agent, KWB Office.

UBC's own Head Office is now based at Birmingham Business Park.  The business centre is fully equipped with furnished offices, meeting rooms, lounge and kitchen areas, IT and telecoms connections, and a welcoming reception area for visitors. Over 200 workstations are provided over two floors, which are available for businesses to rent on flexible serviced or managed terms.

Birmingham Business Park itself, located in the heart of the West Midlands close to Birmingham International Airport and the M42/M6 interchange, is perfectly positioned for access throughout the region. It offers 148 acres of mature parkland and an attractive landscaped environment for workspace residents.

Liz Allister, Development Manager at Birmingham Business Park, has introduced a number of new lifestyle initiatives over the past year for the benefit of tenants and visitors. In addition to fun events such as monthly 'Foodie Fridays', Liz added:

"We've increased our wellness focus and we now have many different activities throughout the Park, including a weekly walking club, charity walks, yoga classes and British Military Fitness sessions. We recently held a professional cycling event, which attracted over 80 cyclists. We were delighted to receive an award by Travel for West Midlands in recognition of our cycling and walking trails."

Liz added, "The Park's positive environment, combined with its excellent location and high quality amenities, has drawn many new occupiers including Rolls Royce, who moved in last year. Birmingham Business Park now has the lowest vacancy rate in a decade."
