UBC 2025: The Year in Review

UBC 2025: The Year in Review

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear that this has been a defining year for UBC. While growth, performance and activity matter, for us this year has ultimately been about people: strengthening our teams, deepening client relationships, and reinforcing the role our centres play within their local business communities. From new team members to standout networking moments and national recognition, 2025 has laid strong foundations for 2026.

Strengthening our Teams

This year saw a number of talented people join UBC, bringing fresh energy, experience and perspective across the portfolio.

Business Centre Managers

We were pleased to welcome three new Business Centre Managers, each now firmly embedded in the UBC family and established at their respective centres:

  • Joy Gray, UBC Leeds
  • Steph Bennett, UBC Cirencester
  • Corey McNeil, UBC Bath

Customer Service Assistants

Our front-of-house teams also rew in 2025 with new Customer Service Assistants joining across the UBC network:

  • Abbi Pottinger, UBC Edinburgh
  • Lorna Affection, UBC Warrington
  • Mo Abdelbaky, UBC Southampton
  • Tilly Freeguard, UBC Fleet

Celebrating Milestones and Centre Highlights

Across our centres, teams took the time to celebrate achievements, build partnerships and engage with their clients in their own, meaningful ways. UBC saw several notable highlights:

  • Customer Service Assistant Elizabeth celebrated her one-year anniversary with UBC
  • Aysha and Elizabeth began a new working relationship with the Business Growth Network, strengthening opportunities for client collaboration
  • The team marked VE Day, World Book Day and International Women’s Day, celebrating with clients and the Guildhall
  • They also claimed victory in the UBC Pumpkin Carving Competition, a light-hearted but fiercely contested annual tradition

These moments reflect the culture we continue to build: professional, inclusive and community-focused.

Recognised on a National Stage

One of the standout moments of 2025 came at an industry level. Jane, UBC’s Marketing Director, was named Female of the Year at the Flex and the City Annual Awards. Jane describes this recognition as her personal highlight of the year and rightly so. It is a testament not only to her leadership, but to UBC’s growing presence and credibility within the flexible workspace sector. Jane also celebrated her 20th Anniversary at UBC this year, so she's had quite a year!

Networking: Regular Events Driving Real Connection

hUBClub Networking gathered real momentum in 2025, evolving from events on a calendar to genuine communities within our centres. In Edinburgh, Abbi hosted what became the centre's most successful tea, coffee and cake morning to date. Attendance was exceptional, with the majority of clients taking part: "we had mostly all of our clients attend this and they loved getting to know each other and all the other, newer clients!" - Abbi.

In Fleet, Magda and Tilly hosted their first Marketing Meetup, opening the doors to fresh conversations and external businesses. We also saw regular networking pick up at UBC Windsor, often coinciding with the Changing of the Guard. Henley-in-Arden continued to build it's networking community with consistent monthyl networking. These events reaffirmed a simple truth: given the right environment, connections follow!

Community, Charity and Culture

Community engagement remained central to UBC in 2025. Centres across the network marked occasions such as Halloween and World Book Day, alongside regular charity fundraising activities. A special mention goes to Magda, who was UBC’s Charity Champion for the year. Her leadership and drive played a key role in delivering a record-breaking charity fundraising achievement for the business.

Looking Ahead

2025 has been a year of progress built on solid foundations: strong teams, engaged clients and centres that operate as genuine business communities. As we look to 2026, the focus remains unchanged: delivering outstanding service, supporting growing businesses, and continuing to invest in the people who make UBC what it is.

Thank you to every team member, client and partner who has been part of the journey this year. The momentum is there, and we're excited to see what 2026 brings!
