BII Makes it a Full House at UBCUK’s Fleet Offices

UBCUK is delighted to have reached full occupancy at Building 2, Sentinel House, Fleet, with the welcome arrival of the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII).

Established 40 years ago, the BII supports a national network of over 9,000 individuals working across all areas of the hospitality sector, including apprentices, bar staff, pub chefs, managers, and tenants.

During what has been an immensely challenging year for the pub and hospitality sector, the BII has worked tirelessly to support its members in every way possible. In recognition of its efforts, the group has grown its membership significantly over the last 12 months and achieved a 95% recommendation rate from existing members.

Formerly based in Farnborough, the BII has now taken a 2,288 sq ft flexible office at Sentinel House, which is UBC’s last available leasehold workspace in Fleet. The letting was made by Steve Barrett MRICS of Farnborough based Hurst Warne.

“When looking for our new office, we wanted somewhere local for staff but also in an area with good transport links for London, and Fleet fit that bill perfectly for us,” said Molly Davis, Head of Communications at the BII.

“We wanted a modern space that reflects our organisation and allows us to collaborate when we are together. The facilities and location of Sentinel House are perfect for our needs.”

With flexible working remaining a key part of the BII’s workplace strategy going forwards, Sentinel House offers a convenient location for staff, along with the ability to utilise various flexible amenities within the business centre. From on-demand meeting rooms and coworking to comfortable lounge areas, the facilities at Sentinel House enable both digital and in-person collaboration between remote and onsite staff.

From its new base in Fleet, the group is now able to put its plans for 2021 into action.

“The last year has been extremely challenging for us, as a charity that supports pubs and the fantastic operators who run them,” added Molly.

“We have great ambitions for the BII, starting with getting all of our pubs back into business ahead of what we hope will be a summer full of joy and celebrations across the country. We will continue to build on this success, inspiring, developing and supporting pubs for many years to come.”

The BII has taken a 5-year lease at Sentinel House at £17.50 sq ft, representing the last of six leasehold office suites operated by UBC.

“We are very pleased to welcome BII to Sentinel House. With the trend being to move away from City Centre locations, and businesses needing flexibility in these uncertain times, we expect to see an increase in demand for our Fleet location and for our flexible office space to be more popular than ever”. commented Jane Erasmus, Sales & Marketing Director for UBC.

In addition to leasehold and managed workspace, UBC operates a second building at Sentinel House with a range of flexible serviced offices and coworking space. Both buildings are managed by professional onsite staff providing daily business support and receptionist services.
