A Very Special Fundraising Update and a New Charity for 2022

Here at UBC, we have always made it part of our mission to support charitable causes. Over the years we have raised funds for various projects such as MacMillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research UK. We also support local charities including Creating Adventures in Warrington, Starburst Foundation and Stepping Stones DS in Fleet, and we have held awareness days for Midlands Air Ambulance at our Cirencester office.

Since 2016 we have significantly stepped up our giving pledge. Each year, in addition to supporting local causes, we select one charity and focus on raising funds throughout the year:

Together with the help of UBC’s incredibly generous clients and friends, we have raised thousands of pounds through various activities, with every penny going to these chosen charities.

Cake sales, raffles, the Cotswold 24 Hour Race, indoor sky diving, a sponsored head shave, 520,000 Steps Challenge, wine tasting, you name it, we’ve probably done it! Through these fundraising activities, we raised more than £4,000 for Guide Dogs UK, £5,768 for Mind, and a whopping £4,644 for The Rainbow Trust.

It’s amazing how much we can achieve when we pull together!

Now we’re looking ahead to 2022 and a very special organisation that we have pledged to support over the next 12 months.

This year, we’re excited to announce that our chosen charity is Alzheimer's Society.

Alzehimers Society Logo

Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. They campaign for change, fund research, and support people living with dementia. There’s currently no cure for dementia, and the Society provides a wide range of support services to ensure that nobody should have to face dementia alone.

The Alzheimer’s Society combines face-to-face support with telephone and online advice and information offered by specially trained Dementia Advisers. They help people with dementia take back control of their lives and remain independent for longer.

They run many other initiatives and fund important research that aims to understand the underlying causes of the condition, improve diagnosis and care, identify ways to prevent dementia, and ultimately find a cure.

Alzheimer’s Society is facing dementia -- the biggest health and social care challenge of our time -- head on. Their vision is to build a world without dementia, and here at UBC we want to support this mission. That’s why we are fundraising for Alzheimer’s Society throughout 2022, and we need your help!

We are calling on our clients, colleagues, and friends to step up and donate to this special cause.

Whether you take part in our monthly activities, pledge some time to volunteer for Alzheimer’s Society, or donate to our 2022 campaign, every little helps.

UBC teams across the country, headed by our own charity champion Richard Bond, are now planning a variety of fundraising events and activities on behalf of Alzheimer’s Society.
