What Our Clients Value: Inside the UBC Annual Client Survey 2026
At UBC Flexible Offices, we believe a great workspace is about more than four walls and a desk. It is about the people who make your working day easier, the facilities that help your business thrive and the flexibility to adapt as your needs change.
Our Annual Client Survey gives us an opportunity to hear directly from the businesses based across our centres. This year's feedback highlights what clients value most about being part of UBC, alongside the areas where we can continue to improve.
A strong foundation built on service
One of the clearest themes from this year's survey is the importance of personal service.
Our clients rated support from the UBC team an average of 4.87 out of 5, reflecting the value of having approachable, knowledgeable people on hand to help. Feedback also highlighted how much clients appreciate timely assistance and a professional, supportive working environment.
For us, this is particularly encouraging. We want every client to feel that there is someone they can turn to, whether they need help with a practical issue, support with their workspace or simply a friendly face during the working day.
As one client at UBC Brentford described the team, they are “exemplary representatives of UBC”. Feedback from Henley-in-Arden also recognised the team's professionalism, knowledge and understanding of individual business needs.
These comments reflect the relationships our centre teams work hard to build every day. We know that responsive, personal service can make a real difference to the experience of running a business.
More than an office: creating the right working environment
Service is a key part of the UBC experience, but the workspace itself matters too.
This year's facilities ratings show that clients particularly value our meeting room facilities, office furniture and equipment, and the cleanliness and maintenance of their surroundings.
Facilities received the following average ratings out of five:
4.5/5
4.5/5
4.4/5
4.3/5
These results help us understand which parts of the working environment are performing well and where there is scope to do better.
A well-equipped meeting room, a comfortable office and welcoming communal areas all contribute to a productive working day. Equally, reliable internet, well-maintained facilities and a comfortable temperature are essential to helping businesses work without unnecessary interruptions.
Clients also shared feedback about areas such as ageing décor, carpets, furniture, kitchen and toilet facilities, air conditioning and parking. These practical details can have a significant impact on day-to-day satisfaction, and they are important for us to understand.
What matters when businesses choose to stay
Choosing an office is an important business decision, and our survey explored the factors that influence clients when considering whether to renew.
Cost was the most frequently selected factor, followed by contract flexibility, workspace quality and facilities, and customer service.
This reflects the balance businesses need to strike: finding a workspace that works financially, offers the right level of flexibility and provides the support and facilities they need to operate effectively.
At UBC, we aim to make that decision easier through straightforward service, clear billing and flexible workspace options. We understand that businesses evolve, and their workspace needs can change with them.
The feedback also reinforces the importance of getting the practical details right. Internet reliability, temperature control and access to facilities all contribute to the overall experience, and we recognise that these areas need continued attention.
Where clients have raised specific concerns through the survey, we have followed up with them directly. We want feedback to be more than a record of what is working and what is not. It should help us have useful conversations and understand where action is needed.
Building a stronger business community
A business centre can offer more than a place to work. It can also create opportunities to meet other businesses, share ideas and build useful professional connections.
Feedback from clients who have attended UBC events has been positive, and suggestions included informal meet-ups, breakfast clubs, guest speakers, workshops and opportunities to promote their businesses.
We recognise that networking means different things to different people. Some clients enjoy organised events, while others prefer the convenience of having their own private workspace and connecting with others more informally.
Our aim is to create opportunities that reflect the needs of each centre's community, making it easier for clients to get involved when it suits them.
Listening to feedback and looking ahead
Our Annual Client Survey is an important part of understanding what matters to the businesses we support. This year's results highlight the strength of our customer service, the value clients place on our teams and the importance of maintaining a comfortable, reliable and well-equipped working environment.
They also give us a clearer view of the practical improvements that can make a difference, from connectivity and facilities to the everyday details of working in a business centre.
We are grateful to every client who took the time to share their experience. Honest feedback helps us recognise what we do well, understand where expectations are not being met and identify opportunities to improve.
At UBC, we believe that listening is only the beginning. What matters is how we use that feedback to keep improving the experience for our clients.
